Located 50 miles from the Arctic Circle in the Swedish Great North, the village of Arjeplog is 60 miles from the major town of Arvidsjaur (airport).

Surrounded by hundreds of lakes, all of them frozen over in winter and covered with a layer of ice from 2 to 3 feet thick, Arjeplog is right on the edge of the main lake HORNAVAN (the longest and deepest lake in Sweden – 650 feet). Nature, the landscapes and lights will take you into a very special world.

Lapland covers an area of 400 000 km² (the equivalent of 2/3 of France) and stretches over Norway, Finland, Sweden and Russia.

Temperatures in the Arjeplog area are at an average of -15°C from January to March. The variations can go from -40°c to 0°c sometimes in 24 hours. Daytime only lasts 2 hours on December 20th but the sun shines for 22 hours on June 21st. The differences between night and day vary up to 15 minutes every day!!!

At the end of January, the sun rises around 9.30 am, and sets at about 3.30 pm, but at the end of February the day starts at 8 am and night at 5 pm.

All Nordic activities nordic activities (like snowmobile, ice buggy, dog sled rides, fishing in frozen lakes, downhill and cross-country skiing, etc.) are possible on the spot and will liven up or prolong your stay if you wish.
